  It is definitely doable with iron, but diamond would be better. I would recommend getting either feather falling boots, or potions of slow falling. They make taking out the cage towers much easier, as you can just jump off when you’re done. A power bow is also very helpful, though it can be managed with only a sharpness sword, using an unenchanted bow to take out the towers.
